The Vision for Kaharoa School is a ‘Quality Learning Environment’. It is this vision that keeps all the stakeholders striving to do the best for the children of our rural school. The schools strengths and successes can be attributed to the efforts of our school community and wider community marching in the same direction by taking an active interest and involvement in the education of their children and the school as a whole. As caretaker of the Principal’s position I see it as my role to firstly maintain the unique character of the school and secondly to build upon the school’s successes by promoting and supporting new initiatives that enhance children’s learning opportunities, thus ensuring the school continues on its journey of success.

Having worked in rural schools for the majority of my teaching career I am acutely aware of the importance of the school being a focal point of the community and the need to provide many and varied opportunities for the children in cultural, sporting, music and artistic pursuits.

School's Point of Difference

The school has enjoyed many property developments over the last few years and we are currently building a new 25 metre swimming pool, Astroturf courts with night lighting and multiuse changing sheds. We are an Enviroschool and we were the 7 th school in New Zealand to become a Cornerstone Values Registered School.
