The objectives of the RPA are:

To uphold the status of principals as professional leaders and managers of schools. To examine and respond to the developing professional needs of members. To promote the ongoing development of members’ professional leadership and managerial skills. To ensure wider recognition as a professional organisation which actively represents the special interests of its members. To maintain close liaison with kindred organisations. To actively and openly support those institutions and sponsors which provide the Association with financial support and professional advice.
